the grave

g of the g

My sister insisted i watch this.
...
As if i wouldn't!
But i'm lazy at getting around to doing, well...anything, so she physically forced me this afternoon.
After which, i shook her violently.

brigitte and ginger

Three nights.
A whole lot of awesome.
(yes, even the last film...i lack standards when i love something...)

If i'm not still watching these two magnificent beasts when i'm 80, then reboot me or something because i've obviously become a ridiculous person.

Also:
Teeny tiny, extremely blonde and psychotic Tatiana Maslany!
The first time i was made aware of just how awesome she is.
I need more Orphan Black.
I need it now.

Also, also:
Is the werewolf hunting Brigitte in Ginger Snaps: Unleashed, the guy Ginger infected in the first movie?
I've always assumed it was but there's never been an official confirmation.
Does it matter?
To my pernickety little brain it does.

Finally:
The animatronics in these movies are sick.
In no way perfect but that's why i love them.
CGI is way too slick for this style of monster making.
I don't want shiny, perfect looking lyncathropes.
I want oddly shaped, awkwardly moving, atavistic bastards that look like they could properly rip you to shreds.
Examples?

(still the best transformation scene ever committed to film)
Oz in BTVS
George in Being Human
even Underworld had pretty decent werewolves

Some things are made to look somewhat cobbled together and werewolves are most certainly one of them.
And yes, i am basically flipping the bird to those Twilight monstrosities.
And whatever the fuck was going on in Van Helsing.
...
Even the Dire Wolves in GoT are more realistic.
And they've got a fraction of the budget!

Idiots.
So many idiots.
